NEW UFC BOUTS BOOKED INCLUDING RETURN OF EDDIE WINELAND

A women’s flyweight bout between Luana Carolina and Priscila Cachoeira is place for UFC 237, occurring May 11 in Jeunesse Arena at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Wineland (23-13-1) is 5-7 overall in the UFC and is coming from consecutive decision losses to Alejandro Perez and John Dodson. He typically only fights once a year today, and has not won a fight because a TKO win over Takeya Mizugaki in 2016. Popov (13-1) is riding a nine-fight win series on the Asian regional arena right into his UFC debut, although he has not fought anyone of notice. Something interesting to keep in mind is that we’ve won two conflicts via the rarely-seen gogoplata entry. Still, I expect most bettors to look to evaporate Wineland here, and Popov will most likely be favored regardless of his lack of UFC experience.
Markus Perez vs. Deron Winn, UFC Fight Night 154
An intriguing middleweight bout between Markus Perez and Deron Winn is set for UFC Fight Night 154, taking place June 22 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. Combate broke the news. Perez (11-2) is 2-2 at the UFC and is coming from a submission win over Anthony Hernandez. Winn (5-0) is coming off of a decision win over Tom Lawlor at Golden Boy MMA 1 and was regarded as a top prospect in 205lbs, though he’ll be falling down in weight for this battle. Although Perez has looked great in his successes, he is a bit too inconsistent for my liking and as a leading prospect I expect Winn to be the favored.
Molly McCann vs. Ariane Lipski, UFC Fight Night 154
Also added to UFC Fight Night 154 is a women’s flyweight bout between Molly McCann and Ariane Lipski. ESPN had the news. McCann (8-2) is 1-1 in the UFC and is coming off of a decision win over the above Cachoeira. Lipski (11-4) was a winner in KSW and had a long win streak before arriving in the UFC, but it was snapped by a decision loss to Joanne Calderwood. The Calderwood fight proved to be a challenging style matchup for Lipski, yet this fight against McCann needs to be in her wheelhouse, and I expect her to get her hands raised.
